Major Life Event
A major life event was when my mother and sister had a serious argument. Though I was not personally involved, it emotionally affected me. I utilized social coping—talking to friends—and emotional focused coping—being alone, relaxing. Since it wasn't my conflict, I turned away using problem-oriented coping. My coping fit the circumstances really nicely. -
Fowler
Though I believe in God, I have not fully developed my faith as my own. Though I was raised Christian, I did not always live by it. Right now, I wish to develop spiritually.
Starting to investigate what I personally believe, I'm in Fowler's Synthetic-Conventional stage and am progressing towards Individuative-Reflective. -
My RIASEC Type
Social was my RIASEC type, which matches me as I enjoy working in fields like criminal justice and psychology and serving others. The test also stated Investigative, but I disagreed completely since I'm not really interested in only statistics or abstract ideas. I enjoy personal contact. Figure 7.2 let me know I relate more to Social and Enterprising aspects. My interests illustrate that vocational interests might be a mix as they do not entirely coincide with the exam. -
Super’s Stages
By middle-age, I would be in Super's Establishment stage for a profession in psychology or criminal justice. This is the time where you prove yourself, pick up skills, and settle into your work. I would concentrate on learning and determining how the position fits me. This phase helps me understand career progress as a long-term process.
