    Arauco War
    The Arauco war was a long conflict between the spaniards and mapuche fought in the Araucanía region of Chile. The war began when the Spanish kept trying to build cities and force the mapuche people out. The war grew bigger and badder starting full out sieges and slave hunting and pillaging. Both sides abducted woman from the other side and raped people. This war lasted 106 years begining in 1550–1656.

    Chile's flag has been flown since October 18 1817. Chile has a pretty sweet flag that really looks like our great Texan flag but you can tell the difference by looking at the blue bit with the star. On the CHile flag the blue bit and star only take up the top left corner of the flag and on the Texas flag the blue bit takes place of most of the left side and the stare is in the middle-left part of the flag.

    The Pacific war was fought between Chile and the Peruvian and Bolivian alliance and lasted from 1879 to 1884 resulting in Chiles victory gaining a big resource rich region from Bolivia and Peru. It was fought over Chilean claims over Bolivian coastal territories in the Atacama desert. It was also fought because of Nitrate taxes on Chile by Bolivia and Peru got pulled in because of their alliance with Bolivia.
