He got scared because a curtain rustled and he stood up to answer the door.

He stood there in the doorway, and whispered Lenore’s name.

He flung open the shutter, and a raven flew in and sat above the door. -
He heard the tapping again, but it was louder and at his window, he walked over to the window sill.

The man smiled and asked the raven why it came from the night’s dark shore, and the raven answered with ‘Nevermore’.
