The first book I ever read was "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" by Dr. Seuss when I was about four years old.

My favorite books during First Grade were the Magic Treehouse books. My teacher had a book club for that specfic series and I thouroughly enjoyed it.

I wrote my first ever narrative in Third Grade. I hated writing it because I felt like I was not a very creative person (I still feel this way), and I couldn't think of anything interesting to write. I began to dislike reading and writing.

I read many books about tsunamis for a research project. I disliked everything involving ELA at this point, so I found it very boring and pointless.

During the COVID-19 quarantine, I decided to read some of the Harry Potter books for the first time because I had nothing to do and realized just how popular the series was. I loved reading the second book, the Chamber of Secrets, and decided to watch the movies. I have been in love with the series (and Daniel Radcliffe) ever since.

When I was in seventh grade, I did a lot of more serious writing for the first time. I had to write my first memoir then. I didn't even know what the word meant when my teacher said it, so I was very confused for the assignment. But eventually, during my writing, I had an epiphany and I actually enjoyed the assignment very much. I think this may be the time when I started to realize how much I enjoy writing.

During my freshman year, I had to read "All Quiet On the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarque, a novel about World War I. The ending was very sad, and this was the first time I can recall crying because of a book. It definitely had an effect on me.

Sophomore year was the year that I officially decided that I love English. I really enjoyed taking English II Honors with Mrs. Plumey. I loved most of the books that I read during that class and I discovered my absoulte joy for writing essays.
