The World War ll battle, Battle of the Bulge, began in mid-December 1944. It started off when the German forces counterattacked Belgium and Luxeumbourg and pushed the U.S. first army back. The result of the German attack smashing into the U.S. first army came to be known as The Battle of the Bulge.
