  • Sopwith Camel

    Sopwith Camel
    It was first intended to be a replacement for the Sopwith Pup. This exciting plane for first flown at Brooklands, by the pilot Harry Hawker. Around 5490 of these aircraft were built throughout the second world war. And 1294 enemy aircraft were shot down.
  • Sopwith Snipe

    Sopwith Snipe
    This was built as the successor to the extremely famous Sopwith Camel and was the most used single seater biplane in World War 1. It lasted for many years taking down many enemy aircraft and was eventually retired in 1926.
  • Sopwith Dolphin

    Sopwith Dolphin
    Whilst built in 1917 this great aircraft was first sent into war in 1918. Here it was very succesful and being powered by a 150 hp engine it was also very powerful. Sadly, the production of this aircraft did not continue after the First World War.

    This was the first aircraft designed and made by Hawker since they took over the Sopwith company. It was made all of wood and its primary role was to carry out support operations for the army.

    The early models of this extraordianry aircraft were built around this time. This plane went on to be the most succesful aircraft in the Second World War, beating even the legendary spitfire.
