Atomic Theory Infograph Assessment

  • Marble Model- John Dalton

    Marble Model- John Dalton
He stated that chemical elements are made up of atoms. He also discovered that the masses are identical to thee number of atoms in an element. He said that atoms can not be created or destroyed. He also said that atoms combine, only when they are in small whole ratios.
  • Plum Pudding Model- J.J. Thomson

    Plum Pudding Model- J.J. Thomson
He discovered electrons on this date and it showed that the atom was all positive and then have negative electrons scattered around on top and that is why it is also called the chocolate chip- cookie dough model.
  • Rutherford Model- Ernest Rutherford

    Rutherford Model- Ernest Rutherford
He discovered the new was centrally charged highly and that that is what the atom was built around which proved Thomson's model incorrect. He also found out how the electrons float around in space around the nucleus.
  • Solar System Model- Niels Bohr

    Solar System Model- Niels Bohr
He discovered that the chemical properties of an atoms determined on how many electrons are in the outer ring of an atom and discovered the energy levels (rings) of an atom.
  • Electron Cloud Model-Erwin Schrodinger

    Electron Cloud Model-Erwin Schrodinger
He discovered that the orbital rings around the nucleus are not circular. Also, he found out that the shaded area (cloud) behind it and that decides how many electrons are there. If it is darker then it is likely for there to be more electrons there.
