Before Actual Reading
Before I started to actually read texts', I sang a lot of songs with a mini toy record player. My favorite song was It's a Small World After All, and I remember that it came with a book. -
Kindergarten
Alphabet by letter association and learning to count, which I remember was big. -
Cursive Writing
In second grade, I learned how to write in cursive. I remember the Cursive Letters being hung up just like an alphabet banner. I remember the extra attention paid to certain letters because they were more complex, such as the letter Q. -
4th grade: Book Report Presentations

middle school (6th grade)

Junior High (7th grade)
started doing books reports on a more regular basis, focusing on creating paragraphs and descriptions. -
High School (9th grade)
We read Romeo and Juliet and started to learn about the different styles of writing compositions and language. -
10th grade: Lord of the Flies
It was interesting to read this book in school; it was a bit controversial. -
Independent Reading
In my 30s, I did a lot of independent reading heavily influenced by different philosophies, religions, and histories. -
College (WNC)
Where I learned how to develop stronger, more meaningful paragraphs and less colloquial.
