Just graduated high school started working my first job. I moved out with my bf at 17 needed to make money to support myself so I didn’t prioritize school. I wanted to do nursing but felt I wasn’t smart enough. Was also interested in psych
-
My sister and I both decided to get out of our bad relationships. I moved in with her and we supported each other. I also auditioned at Disneyland and just started working there. Was going to college off and on, not taking it very seriously
-
I wanted to go to school, and was inspired to become an esthetician. I always struggled with bad skin growing up and decided to try this out. I was working at a spa and at Disneyland for a while. I worked many jobs as an esthetician but I feel like all companies just want you to sell their products. I have never felt passionate for selling things

This was a crazy time for everyone. I went back with my mom and helped care for my grandma and brothers with special needs. My sister also had a surgery around this time and I took care of her and she told me she could see me being a nurse kept encouraging that for me. i did not do much else with my time but I am glad that I spent as much time as I did with my grandmother who recently passed 3

Became an eyelash tech. Was trying to do any work I could and learn new skills. Hated doing this lol
-
I hated eyelash extensions and wanted to try something new so I started waxing at European wax center. I did a lot of brazilians and a client told me that they appreciated how comfortable I made them and that I should be a nurse. I remember telling her “I also am interested in psychology though”, and she said “you can be a nurse in psych! You have way more opportunities in nursing than you think!” I took this as a sign but was scared to pursue at the time.
-
Decided I wanted to try something new and travel. I loved the training more than I liked flying. It was a hard training to finish, a lot of people got sent home. I felt if I could do this then I could do other hard things (like nursing school)
-
I did not like flying, I only enjoyed it when I was talking to the passengers, especially if there were kids on board. They let me come back full time and I was so happy
-
I lost my role at Disney for no longer having “the look”. I thought hard and decided to finally give my all into nursing. What I always wanted to do. Did it all in less than a year
-
I auditioned and got a fun role at Disneyland. I would have never auditioned for this role or finally got my head into the game for nursing if I didnt lose my past role, when one door closes two more open 3
-
I kept looking for nursing programs but would not get in or it just did not work out. A friend told me about United Nursing College, and after visiting the school I knew I loved it and felt like I was meant to go there.
-
So happy, relieved, and grateful for this moment 3
-
Yay!!! Finally started the program and met many awesome people. SO thank ful

We finished our first semester!! 25% nurse. I am so proud of us and so happy to be on this journey with this cohort.

In progress. Loading…

So excited for this day. I do not know what I want to do but I am very interested in labor delivery, neonatal, pediatric and psych. I want to dip my toes in all specialties and be well versed!
-
I want to pay off my student loans QUICK! And live comfortably and enjoy my career
-
I don’t know if it is in the cards for me or not. But I wouldn’t mind finding someone to settle down with and start a family
-
If I have kids I will hopefully have them around this time. If not I will be able to travel more and work on my career goals faster 3
-
I either want to be a travel nurse or have a nursing job that allows me to take time off and travel
-
No matter what happens I will become an NP. I don’t know what I will do yet… maybe FNP,PNP, Psych or woman’s health! All interest me for different reasons!
-
Regardless if I have my own children or not, I will be the best auntie and be family oriented. This is my sister and youngest nephew 3
-
Between becoming an NP and retiring, I want to keep growing and be financially stable, healthy, run my own practice or start teaching the next generation of nurses. I would also be interested in being a school nurse at some point too
-
My goal is to be able-bodied and full of energy as I get older. A 70 year old who is still hiking, dancing, doing her own thing. This might be my boyfriend I just found at 70 years old lol
