  • Boston Massacre

    Boston MassacreA bunch of guys were mad and they threw snowballs at British troops. Shots were fired killing 5 instantly and wounding 6 others.

    The colonists dressed up as Mohawk Indians and went on 3 ships, broke open crates, and dumped 45 tons of tea in the sea.
  • Intolorable Acts

    After the Boston tea party all of Bostons ports were shut down until they payed the money back. All colonial government were kicked out.
  • Second Continental Congress

    The delegates from the first continental congress returned. The Americans were divided between independence and colonial self rule.

    Troops occupied two hills north of Boston. After the third attack the British succeeded and captured Breeds Hill. When the Patriots ran out of ammunition they retreated

    This was made as an attempt to avoid a war. It also confirmed that Americas loyalty was to Britian.
  • Common Sense is published

    It was written by Thomas Paine and expressed both levels of the Revolution. He wrote it so that anyone could understand the conflict between the colonists and Great Britain
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    One of the major writers was Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence was made to break free from England. It was pretty much a break up letter from England.
  • Trenton

    Trenton
    Ben Franklin, John Hancock, and Thomas Jefferson all gathered to discuss the Olive Branch petition. Some Americans wanted independence and others leaned toward colonial self-rule
  • Battle at Saratoga

    Battle at Saratoga
    The British army cut off New England from the rest of the colonies. As a result to get back at Burgoyne Americans destroyed and knocked trees in the road to slow his forces down. Burgoyne surrendered his army and it brought France to war with American Ally
  • Yorktown

    Washington's troops joined Lafayette's army creating one twice the size of Cornwallis's. Cornwallis had many casualties and surrendered.
  • Treaty of Paris

    This was ended of the Revolutionary War. After that Great Britain recognized the independence of the USA. Great Britian took his remaining troops from US territories.
