  • Paul Revere’s Ride

    Paul Revere’s Ride

    On April 18, 1775, the American patriot Paul Revere made his famous ride to warn of an British march on Lexington, Massachusetts where rebel leaders John Hancock and Sam Adams were staying. Paul Revere successfully warned many of the colonial militias, allowing them to prepare for the British troops. These battles marked the start of open armed conflict between Britain and the American colonies this started the beginning the American Revolutionary War.

    Battles of Lexington and Concord

    On April 19, 1775, British soldiers marched from Boston to the towns of Lexington and Concord to take away weapons and arrest some leaders of the American colonists. the outcome was that the British failed to capture the leaders or take the weapons.
    The colonists showed they could fight the British soldiers. This fight started the American Revolutionary War.

    Battle of Bunker Hill

    Just outside Boston Massachusetts. Even though it’s called Bunker Hill most of the fighting actually happened on nearby Breed’s Hill. Colonial soldiers built fortifications on the hill to block the British from taking control of Boston. The British army attacked the hill to take it back. After many attacks the British took the hill. The outcome was The British won the battle by capturing the hill. However the British suffered heavy losses more than 1000 soldiers killed or wounded.
