  (1754-1763)The treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian War. As a result of the war France gave up all of its North American possessions east of the Mississippi Rive to Britain.

  (1767) A series of British acts of parliament during 1776 and 1768. Charles Townshed proposed the Townshed Acts. It was to gain authority over the colonies through strict provisions.
