On September 11, 2001 four aircraft operating under flights: American 11, 77 and united 93, 175 were hijacked and deliberately crashed in to: the two world trade centers, the pentagon, and what would've most likely been the capitol building. The passengers on united flight 93 were able to take back control of the cabin, but were not able to regain control of the flight deck. the aircraft was ditched in rural Pennsylvania, likely saving many. 2,996 lives were lost that day.
