  • Amendment 11

    Amendment 11
    The 11th amendment was ratified on February 7, 1795. It was passed by Congress on March 4, 1794. This amendment clearly defines what the juridiction of the Supreme Court is allowed to do when a suit involving a state by a citizen of another state is brought up.

    The 12th amendment was ratified on June 15, 1804. It was passed by Congress on December 9, 1803. The 12th amendment just changes how the President and Vice-President are to be picked.

    The 14th amendment was ratified on July 9, 1868. This amendment actually had three parts to it.     The 15th amendment was ratified on February 3, 1870. It was passed by Congress on February 26, 1869. This amendment says that race cannot have any role in voting.

    Amendment 16 was ratified on February 3, 1913. It had been passed by Congress on July 2, 1909. This amendment says that the U.S. is to collect income tax no matter what the population is.

    This amendment was ratified on January 23, 1933. It was then passed by Congress on March 2, 1932. This amendment changed the starting dates of Congress and the President. The amendment also defines how the deaths of Presidents will be handled,

    The 22nd amendment was ratified on February 27, 1951. It was passed by Congress on March 21, 1947. This amendment set the limit of how many times a president can be elected.

    The 23rd amendment gives the District of Columbia three electoral votes. It was ratified on March 29, 1961, The amendment had been passed by Congress on June 16, 1960.

    The 24th amendment was ratified on January 23, 1964. This amendment was passed by Congress on August 27, 1962. This amendment made sure that no federal tax was required to vote for federal office.

    Amendment 25
    The 25th amendment defines even more what would happen if succession of the President was to happen. It also came up with rules for the President if unable to perform his or her duties. This amendment was ratified on February 10, 1967.

    On May 7, 1992 the 27th amendment was ratified. It was propsed on September 25, 1789. This amendment states that if pay is increased of legislators, it may not take effect until after election.
