    1.) Softball was first invented in 1887 in Chicago when a group of friends improvised a game with a rolled up boxing glove and a broomstick handle. 2.) It had names that were called like "Kitten Ball" and "Diamond Ball." 3.) Softball first became and Olympic sport in 1996.

    Fields In Softball!

    1.) A softball field is a "skinned diamond" with bases 60 feet apart. 2.) The pitcher's mound/circle is 43 feet from home plate for women's high school fast pitch softball. 3.) The outfield fence is typically between 185 and 235 feet far from the home plate.
  • Positions!

    Positions!

    1.) Softball has nine positions. The positions are Pitcher, Catcher, First Basemen, Second Basemen, Third Basemen, Shortstop, Left Fielder, Center Fielder, Right Fielder. 2.) The Pitcher and Catcher are the main people who control the game's tempo. 3.) In some leagues a Fourth Fielder is added to the game.

    1.) Softball uniforms are a set of matching athletic clothes for a team including, a jersey, pants, socks, cleats, and a cap. 2.) Women's uniforms used to be once included skirts or dresses, and this sport has a long tradition of design reflecting teams. 3.) All players must wear the same style of and color of uniform with some exceptions of religions.

    Rules!

    1.) In softball the pitcher must throw underhand with an arc and hitting a fair ball to score runs by touching four bases in order. 2.) The game is involved with seven innings and a team with the most runs win. 3.) The runner's also have an ability to lead off a base until the pitcher releases the ball.
