Alexander the Great tamed a horse when he was 12 years old. He tamed a wild horse who had a great demeanor. The horse became his companion he even named cities after his horse. The horse's name was Bucephalus. -

Philip ll of Macedon was assassinated while going to a wedding, and because of this Alexander became king of the now-powerful empire of Macedonia. He was just 20 years old, but a very smart man. -

When Philip ll died, the people of Thebes thought this was their chance to revolt from the Macedonians because their leader was only 21. The Thebes people did not know that Alexander the Great was a very smart man he was able to crush the rebels. -

Alexander The Great starts his invasion of Persia
In 334 BCE, Alexander the Great started his invasion of Persia, doing what his father wanted. He crossed the Bosphorus Strait, and the first battle was the battle of the Granicus River, which he won. He beat the Persians using the Palanax technique. The Palanax technique is where soldiers stand close to each other with really long spears stab people attacking them from above below. -

Alexander The Great's companion, Bucephalus dies in the battle of Hydaspes from fatal injuries. Bucephalus was a wild horse that Alexander The Great tamed as a kid with great courage. -

In 325 BCE, when Alexander The Great reached the Indus Valley his army was tired home sick. So he did what any great general would do. He headed home stopped his expansion towards the west. -

Alexander The Great dies
Alexander The Great, on his way back home got sick died in Babylon, now day Iraq. People say he died of malaria but nobody knows for sure. He died at the ripe old age of 32 years old.
