    It is not yet light, but Cornelia gets up and is walking through the country house.

  • Adhuc dormiunt mater et pater et Marcus.

    Mother, father, Marcus still sleep.

  • Non tamen dormiunt servi et ancillae.

    However, the slave woman and slaves are not sleeping.

  • Ancillae vīllam pūrgant, cibum coquunt, lānam trahunt.

    The slave woman clean the house, cook the food, and they spin wool.

  • Iratus subitō est Cornēlius

    Suddenly, Cornelius is angry.

  • Davus, ubi Cornelium audit, statim surgit et labōrāre parat.

    Davus, when he hears Cornelia, immediatly gets up and prepares to work.

  • Iam surgunt Cornelius et Aurēlia. Cornēlius petit Davum quī in hortō est.

    Cornelius and Aurelia now get up. Cornelius looks for Davum, and he is in the garden.

  • Mātrem observat Cornelia et omnia quae mater facit facere parat.

    Cornelia sees mom and all that mother is preparing to do.

  • Servī et ancillae nunc strēnuē labōrant

    The slaves and slave-woman now work actively.

  • Necesse est neque servum neque ancillam reprehendere.

    It is neccesary not to scold the slaves neither the the slave woman.
