    The Congress of Vienna reoganized Europe after the Napoleon wars. Some of the major goals are: balance power, make monarchies what they once were , and Prevent future conflicts. This is important because this gave organization to Europe.

    Prohibits the further colonization of the Americas by European countries. Also it was said that any country that violated this would be seen as a hostile act toward the Americas. This is important because this opens the door to less taxes and more freedom in America.

    This war started when the Chinese were mad about the british making profit off selling opium, so they blew up an opium ship. (China lost) This was significant because the British got a lot of profit and the Chinese did not. Lin Zexu's confiscation and destruction of a large quantity of British opium in Canton in 1839 started the first opium war

    The first revolt began in Sicily, then spread to France, Germany, Italy, and the Austrian Empire. (All Failed) Wanted to overthrow their government which was conceived after the napoleonic wars. This was significant because this tried to overthrow multiple governments.

    War between the Confederate states and the Union the Union won in 4 years. This war started by the claiming of Fort Sumter in Charelston. This is important because when this war ends, it abolishes slavery. It also institutionalizes freedom!!!!!

    Unifies the British North American Colonies of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia under one government. This is important because it established the country's political structure.

    This ended Japan's feudal military government and restored imperial rule under Emperor Meiji, opening the door for modernization and industrialization. This is important because it transformed Japan from being isolated to being imperialist and being a world power.
  • Suez Canal Opens

    This canal provided a much more efficient travel route to Asia and Europe from Africa. It took over 10 years to complete! Great Britain had control over the canal for a while. This is important because this lead to an increase in global trade and this allowed for much more efficient trade routes.

    Creation of the German Empire after winning the wars against France, Habsburg monarchy, and Denmark. This was managed by Prussia under chancellor Otto Von Bismark. This is important because this is the start of Gemany, they will play a big role in WWI and WWII.

    The Berlin conference focused on European countries gaining control of colonies in Africa. BIG DISCLAIMER!!!! : THERE WERE NO AFRICAN KINGS/LEADERS TO DECIDE WHO THEY WERE COLONIZED BY!!!! This is important because they were colinizing Africa, (Without option for african countries)

    This was a group of socialist and labor parties, established May Day and International Women's Day. This worked to be an advocate for laborers/workers. This is is important because this started a modern global socialist movement.

    The Boxer Rebellion was a violent uprising in China where a group called the "Boxers" fought against foreign influence and Christianity. This is important because they rejected the religion of most people.
