  • Supreme court decision

    The supreme court decided that segregation in schools was illegal. They felt it was an unsafe environment and many people were upset.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    In 1954, the parents of Linda Brown went to court against the Board of Education to desegregate schools. This happened because she felt segregation in school was unconstitutional and unfair.
  • Linda Browns parents

    They went to the Supreme Court against the Board of Education. After that case, segregation in schools were now illegal.
  • Rosa Parks helps end segregation

    She defied the police and bus driver by not going to the back where blacks are supposed to sit. It started the Civil Rights Movement, all in all creating the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
  • New Trends

    New trends start to take the world by storm. Rock and roll takes a huge liking to teenagers. Pop art also becomes very popular.
  • Lyndon B. Johnson is sworn in

    After JFK´s assassination, Johnson is immediately sworn in as the president of the US.
  • MLK speech

    He gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. It inspired many people to stand up for what they believed in.
  • Who MLK was and how he died

    He was the leader of the Civil Rights Movement and inspired people to use nonviolent protest such as boycotts and sit-ins. Sadly though at night while standing outside on a hotel balcony MLK was assassinated by an angry man in Memphis.
  • Mission to the moon

    They were sent to the moon to the moon to walk on it. This symbolized power and new discoveries for the US. We wanted to be the first. "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!"
  • Us troops leave Vietnam

    Once the US withdrew from Vietnam, North Vietnam, South Vietnam, and America signed a cease-fire but not before South Vietnam lost the war.
