The start of the Korean War started with the North Koreans attacked South Korea in an unprovoked attack. This lead to many casualties for South Korea especially at the begining of the war. -
North Korea captured Seoul very fast which was the capital of South Korea. It also was one of the biggest cities in the country which was a bad sign for South Korea and how this war would go. -
After the capture of Seoul the UN had decided to intervene in this war sending troops from all over the world. With the USA sending troops in the highest amount. -
With UN help Korean troops were able to capture back Seoul. This was done with much help from troops from all over the globe. This was done in late setember in 1950. -
In late october in 1950 the Chinese would join the korean war this would cause a flip for the war where South Korea and allies would now be on the back foot to the North Koreans and China. -
With the help of Chinese troops North Korea was able to capture Seoul agian. This showed the change in the way the war was going -
South Korea and its allies were able to recaputre Seoul again. -
King George VI died in this year. Allowing his daughter Queen Elizabeth to become the Queen of the United Kingdom. -
The presidental battle that happened during the Korean war was won by Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was a republican and was elected in 1952. -
Dwight D. Eisenhower was inaugurated during Januray of 1953. This would be a change in party in the precidency. -
In July 1953 there was a truce that was signed on both sides to stop the violence. It was agreed upon the 38th parallel as the line to divide the two. -
This is the case that outlawed the segregation of students in school. It is one of the most important court cases in American history. -
The Warsaw pact was signed this year that created the formation of the Eastern block. This caused the communist world to become united.
