Technically, you just had to have property, but people that were not white men had no way of getting that, and even some white men couldn't. such a dog eat dog world.
-
Officially removing everyone's right to vote but the white property owning man. there were a few black men in special circumstances allowed to vote before but they snuffed that out.
-
Over the span of 1792 - 1856, states slowly lost the property requirement, but kept a tax on voting, to keep the commoners and lower lifeforms away.
-
In 1868, all people born in the USA were citizens via the fourteenth amendment, this was like the starting to push to pretty much every other voting improvement.
-
Some states, starting with Wyoming, gave women voting rights. this is what some people call foreshadowing.

Primarily black people, but every person of color could vote so long as they followed the same rules as everyone else (white men).

This is why America is not allowed to have nice things. fun fact! White Rich Men didn't like all of this "freedom" in THEIR land of the free so they got creative.

-
That is great! Didn't know you guys were facing difficulty too but welcome to the team!
-
Great? Not really as monumental as you think. It just means that the District of Columbia is treated as a bare minimum state.
-
This includes
- One Man One Vote
- No poll tax
- minority protection
- wealth requirement ban
- Both houses of the electoral districts of state legislation are required to have members equal in population -
Now even the YOUNG adults can vote. Look how far we've come.

This was news to me. Before that year, people FIGHTING FOR THE COUNTRY could not vote.
