    The US was the hub for immigrants, for tons of immigrants from all over the world came to the US to escape their oppressive country and to make a better lives for themselvers. But this act was the first to outlaw a certain race from entering the US, suggesting how the US was a mix of a free country to most imiigrants but also had a prejudice and discriminatroy side to it.

    Wounded Knee Massacre
    This massacre represents the last showdown between the US army and the Native Americans.This was also one of the most brutal and violent and horrific battle the US army ever fought because they savagely killed almost all the people in the Sioux village.

    The Paris Peace Conference was made to discuss the future events of the world essentially; however, each leader of each nation wanted different things. Wilson wanted peace for the world, while the European leaders wanted retribution. They punished Germany relentlessly with infinite payment reparations among others.

    The stock market crash of 1929 was the primary cause of the Great Depression. No one thought that this crash would lead to years of poverty, but it did. This event is significant because it portrays how after a decade of affluence (roaring 20s), things can still fall very quickly if banks are loaning money to careless stock investors and if there are flaws in teh economy.

    Pearl Harbor was the catalyst for America to enter WWII, for it symbolized one of the only times America was attacked on its own territory, and so the US had to show that it would stop at nothing to defeat the nation that attacked them. Roosevelt's Arsneal of Democracy idea played a key role in persuading the American public that their allies needed the US in the war, for if the US had not entered, democracy in Europe would have ended with the defeat of Britain by Germany.

    Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb onthe Japanese was the "toughest of his lfie." This event represented the power and nuclear capabilities of the US, telling all other nations that the US was not to be messed with.

    This event shows how the US “formally shed its isolationist past and thrust itself forward as a determined superpower fighting its new rival” (ushistory.org). After WWII, obviously the US was not an isolation nation, but this event really underscored that the US would not sit back and allow other countries take over weak nations. This event led to the creation of NATO in 1949, which operated under collective security, for if any of the members were attacked, all other members would retaliate.
