When I was in around 7th-8th grade in middle school the concept of writing essays was brought into question. When they introduced essays they also introduced a format called ICEE as a way to write essays. -
Once entering High School my freshman teacher Ms.A at the time taught us at the time that ICEE was not a format of writing essays that you would no longer need as a writer. It was different and we were taught MLA format which is the standard for High Schools.
