This stage is about babies learning if people will take care of them. If they’re cared for with love and kindness they learn to trust But if people ignore them or aren’t around they start to feel unsure and not safe which causes mistrust. -
Autonomy & Shame
In this stage kids want to do things by themselves If adults support them and let them learn kids feel proud and confident But if they’re scolded or not allowed to try they might feel embarrassed or doubt what they can do. -
identity & Role Confusion
Teens in this stage are trying to figure out who they are and what matters to them If they’re free to explore and supported they build a strong identity If not they might feel lost and unsure about who they are or what they want.
