    Great railroad Strike

    The Great railroad Strike was a series of strikes that took place on the railroads after the workers wages were being cut. It was dangerous work and more and more harsh restrictions were being placed upon them.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    Chinese Exclusion Act

    Significant law excluding immigration to the United States. Prohibited Chinese from coming to the United States for 10 years and also prevented immigrants from becoming citizens.

    Dawes Act

    Federal Government is allowed to divide Native lands into plots to assimilate them into American society. Natives who accepted the land allotments were allowed to become citizens. This destroyed the Native Americans culture.

    The Titanic passenger ship sunk in the North Atlantic Ocean after hitting an iceberg. It caused a lot of death and was a major tragedy for the world. It also ensured later ships were more safe.

    The Stock Market in the United States Crashed, causing worldwide panic and people trying to sell their stocks. Most lose money and this starts the Great Depression.

    A confrontation between the U.S. Government and the communist Soviets. The Americans saw nuclear missiles being delivered to Cuba, which caused widespread fear across the U.S.
