Throughout elementary, middle, and even high school (less so) teachers utilized overhead projectors and transparency sheets to demonstrate problem-solving and give direct instruction. I remember being assigned the job of washing the transparencies from time to time. -
The TV cart would get rolled in for viewing of supplemental materials and to watch movies during lunch on rainy days. VHS tapes were fed into the VCR machine. -
As I was nearing middle school, the iMac became prevalent and a fleet was purchased for my school to equip our computer lab. An available classroom was converted and exclusively designated as the "Computer Lab". -
In middle school, my class began utilizing the computer lab more frequently, with very guided lessons on making text documents and typing. -
In high school, the school adopted Moodle as the learning management platform which behaved like a blog or class website where we accessed links and resources. It was clunky and teachers had a hard time with it. -
In high school, we expanded from the offline text editing software like microsoft word to begin using web based and collaborative text editing with Google Docs. I remember using this with my friends as a "group chat" throughout the school day (as well as doing school assignments).
