    The French and Indian War was called the "seven years war". The war lasted from 1756-1763 and Europe, Sweden , Austria, and France were allied to crush the rising power of King Fredrick the Great. The English and the French battled for colonial domination in North America, the Caribbean, and in India.

    The Proclamation of 1763 was where Britian prohibited American colonists from settling west of Appalachian Mountains. This was made because of the French government had yielded the territory and the British had disagreed with it. They carried on the Seven Years War because the Native Americans had allied with the French.

    The Stamp Act was where the British government imposed a tax to American colonies. The main goal was to raise money for needed military defenses of the colonies.

    The Townshend Acts was where glass, lead, paints, paper and tea taxes increased. These acts were passed by the Parliment of Great Britian. The acts were named after Charles Townshend for emporer expenses in the colonies.

    The Boston Massacre was about 50 citizens attacking a British sentinel. A British officer, Captain Thomas Preston, called in additional soldiers, and these too were attacked, so the soldiers fired into the mob, killing 3 on the spot, and wounding 8 others.

    The Lexington and Concord was where Britain's General Gage would send out groups of British soldiers to Boston. Their destinations were Lexinton, where they would capture the Colonial leaders Sam Adams and John Hancock. Then Concord, where they would take gunpowder.
