Road to Revolution

  • The beginning of the French and Indian war.

    The beginning of the French and Indian war.
    Beginning. Beginning. This was the first real battle fought in this war, George Washington killed a French scouting group and then retreated to build Fort Necessity. This ties into the revolution because, the British would ultimately win and this was kind of a prediction of the war's end.
  • End of French and Indian war.

    The British ultimatly won the war, their flag was raised over Detroit, marking the functional end of the seven year war. This moves us closer to the revolution because, the British raised taxses whitch is the entire reason the war started.
  • The Proclomation of 1763

    ' >1763Proclomation of 1763</a>Beginning. This Proclomation basacaly told settlers they weren't allowed to settle in the Ohio River Valley. This Proclomation was important because it made the settlers question British rule because it violated their rights.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was a kind of proclomation by the British to tax the colonies for all documents to help pay off their war debts. This created unrest in the colonies and made the beginning sparks of a revolution.
  • Townshend act.

    A series of laws in 1768 passed by a man named Townshend placing new taxes on the colonists. This created much talk of revolution because they did not like being taxed without representation.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was were lots of British redcoats shot into an unarmed croud of colonists. This, to me at least, is the official begging of the revolution this is when all colonists were ready to rise up.
  • Tea act

    The Indian tea company that traded with Britian had fallen on hard times and the British taxed the colonists in responce. This is a huge event in American history because it lead to the Bosten Tea Party.
  • Boston Tea Party

    tea party In 1773 some coloists dressed as native Americans and dumped tons of tea into the Boston Harbor in protes of the Tea act. This was a HUGE event in American history because this lead to well basically the entire revolution,

    Britain lost large sums of money sending supplies to, and troops, to the settlers, so the parliment repieled duties except those on tea, This lead to revolution because the settlers were tired of being putty in Britains hands.
  • Lexington and Concord

    battle At these two places the very first shots of the revolutionary war were fired, this ties into the war because it began it.
  • Declaration of Indepenence

    This declaration was made to announce America's independence from Britain. This ended the revolutionary war with America coming out victorious. :)
