    Pre-K

    During this time I remember vividly being introduced to "The Pigeon has to go to School" This book was comforting as it felt like I could understand the transition of starting to go to school.
  • Kindergarten

    Kindergarten

    More books were introduced that involved more words as well as the picture books continued. A book I remember is "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."
  • First Grade

    First Grade

    During my first grade year, simple sentence structures were starting to appear. As well as being pulled to small groups to focus on the practice of small reading of simple sentences.
  • Second Grade

    Second Grade

    During this time longer books were being read as well as they would recommend me books based on my reading level. Fun and more imagination based books were included such as "The MagicTreehouse"
  • Third Grade

    Third Grade

    As my reading began to improve so did my curiosity to learn more, in this case of interesting events from the world. Around this time historical fiction caught my eye. This reading was longer but all at the same time engaging.
  • Fourth Grade

    Fourth Grade

    Longer books were being introduced during this time as well as reading along with the class would occur. During this time I read "Esperanza Rising" My teacher would read to us or at times ask students to read a paragraph.
  • Fifth Grade

    Fifth Grade

    During my Fifth Grade class my teacher liked Harry Potter and her whole class room was based on it. The book was longer and included for all of us to participate in reading a page or so. The book we read was "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."
  • Sixth Grade

    Sixth Grade

    The book "Wonder" was something we had to read and write comprehensions in class, this book taught me empathy.
  • Seventh and Eighth Grade

    Seventh and Eighth Grade

    More historical books and studies of things that happened were introduced to me. In this Example the topic and story of Anne Frank was being taught in class as well as her Diary being read to us which brought open discussion to class.

    Through out all four years of High School more literature form of writing and reading was introduced, such as what is the theme, tone, and attitude. An example was poetry being more brought into the learning such as "The Raven"
  • Present Day

    I love reading and enjoy going to book stores. I pick books out of my own enjoyment and liking. My favorite book ever is "Pride and Prejudice."
