Then decide on a college that would be right for you. Or if you want to join the military or got straight into a job. -
Complete all the primary courses first.
Explore the education section/child development classes.
Participate in volunteer work with children.
Earn Associate's Degree (AA/AS) -
Transfer your credits
Major in Education (Early Childhood, Elementary, or secondary).
Get classroom experience
Get development with the teachers and mentors. -
Complete field-work and the hours with it
Go under a placement with being under a mentor
Graduate with your Bachelor's in Education -
Work as a substitute teacher (while still earning your degree)
Gain more of an experience of what it is like in a classroom that you want.
Prepare for the Praxis exam -
Register and and take the Praxis exam(s).
Study with practice test, review any types of standards that you would need.
Pass all the required sections for your state's certification. -
Staying up to date on all the technology tools for school and the students.
Having a strong relationship with your students and parents.
Always keeping parents updated.
Take your time, and help others if they need a little more help than others. -
Apply to all the school districts that you may want to work at
Prepare yourself with a resume with your student teaching experience.
Once hired, get your classroom management, build a relationship with your students, and learn more about them. -
Continue professional development (go to workshops, conferences with parents and other teachers)
Network with other colleagues, join other teacher associations.
Reflect on the lessons and improve on any strategies that you would want to go through. -
Make sure you budget yourself.
Figure out what kind of layout you want to have for your students and yourself.
