The 307th Infantry Regiment moved into the line on Okinawa on April 29, on the top of the Maeda Escarpment also known as Hacksaw Ridge. Conscientious objector, Army Medic Desmond Doss, selflessly attends to wounded men while unarmed. this was amazing act that earned him the Medal of Honor.

On May 4, Japanese forces begin a major offensive in the southern part of Okinawa. One week later, Marines begin an assault on Sugar Loaf Hill.

After a couple days of battle finally let the Allies take Hacksaw Ridge. This achievement gave the US a massive advantage in the rest of the war.

After the Japanese noticed that they lost Okinawa they retreated to their last line of defense. With the battle over and the lives lost I am here typing about all of the amazing solders that sadly lost their lives.
