Slavery was the main part of the war.Nine times out of ten there were battles and murders because someone wanted Slavery and someone didn't.In this case the North didn't want slavery but the South did. The war was between the South and the North fighting for if the U.S was going to have slavery or no Slavery. The North thought that slavery was abusive and wrong.But on the other hand the Sought thought it was apart of there lifestyle to win slaves and make them work. -
Missouri Compromise
The Missouri Compromise was when the U.S split Maine and Missouri were split into a 36/30 line.The U.S decided to give the 36 to the South and the 30 to the North.They did this because the South said Washington D.C could be free because its where our President who wanted to be a free country. -
Dred Scott Case
Dred Scott was a Abolitionist that fought for no more slavery. Dred Scott was figuring for enslaved people that were not regarded as people or citizens of the Government .according to the D.O.I african americans weren't counted in the D.O.I as all men are created equally. Dred Scott was mad about this because him self was an African American. -
John Brown's Case
John Brown was a leader that was trying to end slavery. John brown was accused for murder.He was charged because his followers were killing people in self defence.He also was charged for stealing arsenal from the U.S.Because of these charges he was hung and killed.This made the north sad because we was fighting to end slavery. The north thought of him as a hero for sacrificing his life for the north. -
The Election Of 1860
The Election Of 1860 was the Presidential Election that made America turn around for the bad and good. During the election the states decided that Abraham Lincoln was President.The North was happy and celebrated that Lincoln became President because he was from the North and wanted to end slavery.But on the other hand the South was furies.The South knew that Lincoln was going to win so they didn't put him on the voting cards because the South new that the north had a lot more people the them.
