I developed a passion for stories when I heard bedtime tales such as "The Cat in the Hat" by Dr. Seuss and "Llama Llama Red Pajama" by Anna Dewdney.
-
The school taught me about phonics and sight words. "Doctor" Seuss books made reading enjoyable and thrilling with their rhymes and funny tales.
-
Reading Charlotte’s Web by myself was a big accomplishment. I really enjoyed the characters and felt happy to have completed a "big" book.
-
Weekly library visits introduced me to the "Scholastic Book Fair" where I could buy my favorite series "The Babysitters Club" by Ann M. Martin. I actually still have most of my copies.
-
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series made me obsessed with reading. I stayed up late fully absorbed with Greg Hefley and his family adventures. I was so happy when they released the film adaptation in 2010! Even though I was late to see it haha
-
Assigned reading helped me understand the deeper themes in stories better. I learned to study books instead of only enjoying the story.
-
I found a passion for classic literature and thinking critically by participating in class discussions and writing essays. Maya Angelou work is my favorite to interpret.
-
Now that I am in college, I have studied philosophy, read memoirs, and explored literature from around the world which helped me broaden my reading beyond just fiction.
-
Audiobooks and e-books made reading more accessible in my busy adult life. They helped me continue exploring books while multitasking. I personally prefer Audible Kindle Unlimited.

I suggest books that talk about stories to share with others and promote reading among younger people. My adventure as a reader goes on endlessly! I recently got a Kindle for Christmas, and have already finished over 25 books!
