Marilyn Monroe wanted to escape her abusive foster home so the best solution for her was to get married. She was pressured into getting married to their neighbor’s 21-year-old son, factory worker James Dougherty, on June 19, 1942, soon after her 16th birthday. Signed contract with an acting agency
Monroe spent her first six months at Fox, during her time there she learned acting, singing, and dancing, and in observing the film-making process. Her contract was renewed in February 1947. And so after that, she got her first role in “Dangerous Years”. -
Signed contract with model Agency
Monroe took a three-month modeling course to learn the basics. Monroe went against her deployed husband and she moved on her own and signed a contract with the Blue Book Model Agency in August 1945. She was featured mostly in advertisements and men's magazines and they say that her body figure was more suitable for pin-up than high fashion modeling. -
Remarried

Only after one year of a divorce, she remarried but this time to Arthur Miller. They got married on June 29, 1956. Monroe was 30 at the time and Arthur Miller was 41. They got a divorce on 5 years later. -

One of her most iconic films is “Some Like It Hot”. It is a 2-hour film about two musicians who disguise themselves by dressing as women in order to escape from mafia gangsters whom they witnessed committing a crime. She played the role of “Sugar Kane”. -

Monroe died from an overdose of sleeping pills in her Los Angeles home. Her death was ruled a “probable suicide.” She died at the age of 36 years on August 4, 1962, in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California, United States. She was buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary.
