Greek's theory
The Greeks thought that atoms were small, invisable particles. They started from the greek word atomos. They then came up with their theory that atoms were small particles that were invisable. -
Dalton's theory
Dalton thought that atoms were solid spheres. He started from the greek's theory, and just sort of built on. And, he developed that atoms were small, solid spheres. -
Thomson's theory
He discovered elctrons (e-) He sort of added to the previous theory, but he found something different. He discovered the electrons. -
Crookes Theory
Crooke invented the cathode ray tube. He saw in the tube a green light. When he put something in it. it made a shadow. -
Rutherford's theory
Rutherford discovered the nucleus. He did an experiment and found that every once in a while a particle would bounce back, so thats how he discovered the nucleus. -
Bohr Theory
His theory was: Electrons revolve around the nucleus of atom in circular orbits in which energy of electrons is constant. These circular paths are known as "energy levels" or "stationary states". -
Heisenberg
Heisenberg worked out that particles had a lot more energy over short distances than expected. He realized that a particle can borrow energy as long as it is paid back in a short time. The relationship he came up with was the position and energy.
