Joan of Arc was a peasant girl who had grown up expirencing war. When she was just a baby, English and their allies, the Burgundians, had been in control of more than half of France, including where Joan lived. (Check). Joan and her family had to flee their town when Burgundians invaded and burned all of the houses down. (Nichols 1).

Joan of Arc hears a religious voice for the first time at the age of 13. (Nichol 2). These voices continued and became more signifigant as she got older. At 17 years old, Joan had heard a signifigant voice and had a vision of St. Michael, St. Catherine and St. Margret, who were telling Joan to save Orleans, France. (findingDulcinea Staff).

Joan eventually decides to act upon the religious voices she has been having. 17 year old Joan of Arc traveled thorough the enemy territory of the Burgundians. In Orleans Joan of Arc meets with the uncrowned King Charles VII. (findingDulcinea Staff). Joan and uncrowned King Charles VII had never met prior and she persuaded him into giving her a small army to lead to Orleans.

Joan of Arc by instructions of uncrowned King Charles VII, set out to defend the French city or Orleans. Joan was given a small army to support her in assisting the city which was surrounded by the English army. She planned to travel there by boat but it was too windy the day of her scheduled departure so she had to take her troops to Orleans by land. (Nichol 12-13)

During the third seige of Orleans, Dunois arrived. Joan woke up one day by the sounds of the voices telling her to attack the English immediately. Great news came to Joan of Arc that her enemy had drowned. Soon after, the English retreated from Orleans and the French city was safe again. (Nichol 12-13).

Joan tried to settle things down by sending a letter to the English commander, Duke of Bedford, as well as the English troops. During the third seige of Orleans, Dunois arrived. Joan woke up one day by the sounds of the voices telling her to attack the English immediately. (Nichol 12-13).

When Charles VII of France arrived at Rheims, the immediately crowned him king. Citizens of France were eager for Kind VII to be crowned. Before he was officially king, the followed what he said and what Joan of Arc did but were very relieved he was now the official king. (Nichols 16-17)

The preist from Joan of Arc's trial automatically found her guilty. He condemned her to be publically burned. Joan was burned at the Market Square in Rouen a short while after her trial. (Nichol 18-19).

January 1431, Burgundians sold Joan of Arc to their English allies. She was taken to Rouen, France, where she way tried as an enemy of god for believing in her religious voices that she had heard. The priest found Joan of Arc guilty. (Nichol 18-19).
