Hernán Cortés arrives on the coast of what is now Mexican state of Tabasco. Local Indians give the Spaniards peace offerings.

Montezuma receives Cortés with great honor, but soon Cortés will take Montezuma captive.

Cortés leaves for a short while leaving Pedro de Alvarado in change. When he gets backs he finds that the Aztecs besieged Pedro after he killed many chiefs.

When Montezuma dies in Spanish custody Cortés retreats form the capital at night. After 6 days Cortés wins the battle of Otumba over the Aztecs sent in Pursuit

Cortés mounts an offensive against Tenochtitlán. He defeats Cuitláhuac’s successor marking the end of the Aztec empire.
