History of the Atom Timeline by Walter and Jeremy

  • 400

    Democritus (400 B.C.)

    Democritus (400 B.C.)
Democritus debated that the world consisted of an infinite number of atoms moving in an infinite number of ways. He believed atoms was the samllest part in matter. He based his theory on observations and natural curiosity expirements. His experiment was called 'Big Thoughts".
  • Dalton (1803)

    Dalton (1803)
Dalton discovered that each chemical element is composed of its own atom. He based his theory on expirements and models. Dalton model was called 'Billard Balls' and his expirements was called 'Observing Chemical Reactions'.
  • Bohr

    Bohr
Nieis Bohr used quantim theory to explain the motion of electrons.
  • Thomson (1897)

    Thomson (1897)
Thomson discovered the electrons. He used expirements his expirement was called 'The Cathode Ray Tube". His model was called 'Plum Pudding" his model basically says that atoms are spheres which has an overall diffuse positive charge.
  • Heinsberg and schrodinger

    Heinsberg and schrodinger
they both discovered that they are basic
  • Rutherford

    Rutherford
Rutherford found that when Alpha and Beta changes were released at the same time. They caused a chemical change. He gathered his information from expirements with the Alpha . He made the discovery ' On the total mass of an atom". Made an expirement called "Father of Nuclear Age".
