Rugby and athletics was something that played a huge role in university. He ran in the 100 and 220 yard race for the university and played rugby for his universities club. -

In 1932 he went back to China where he met his wife. There he taught wealthy kids and gave boys sports training. He also had a church Sunday school there. -
In the late 1930s China became more dangerous. In 1943 Lindell was sent to a camp where he helped the elderly and played games with the kids. During that time In February 1945 Lindell got a brain tumor and died.
