Edgar Poe was born in Boston on January 19, 1809. His parents were David and Elizabeth Poe. Edgar Allan Poe had two siblings, a brother named Henry and a sister named Rosalie. Edgar's parents were both underpaid traveling actors who had a low income flow. David and Elizabeth eventually split and Elizabeth took custody of her children. -

Edgar's first witness of death was when he was only three years old, his mother had caught the disease tuberculosis. Elizabeth Poe died in 1811 -

After the Poe children's mother had died they were all split up in different directions, Henry went to live with his grandparents, rosalie went to live with a family who had adopted her, and Edgar went into the family of Mrs. and Mr. John Allen. Mr. Allen was a wealthy merchant so Edgar was put into good schools. -

The second death for Edgar.
On febuary 28th 1829 Edgar's foster mother, who he was quite close to, died from tuberculosis, the same disease his real mother had died from. -

After Britain sees their cruel ways to slabes, slavery is banned in Great Britain. -
Edgar Allan Poe falls in love.
Edgar Allan Poe fell in love with Virgina, his thirteen year old cousin. At the time Edgar was twenty-seven, so he was 14 years older than Virgina. They got married in 1836. -

Florida becomes the 27th State of the U.S.A. on March 3, 1845. -

Edgar's cousin, and wife grew ill from the disease that took out all the women he was close to, Tuberculosis. Edgar had really loved Virgina and it was a serious heart break for Poe and you can see it in his writting.
