    When the Cook Islands was found.

    The Cook Islands was found somewhat 800 AD, The Cook Islands was found by both James Cook and another British explorer. Though James Cook discovered the Island, it wasn't by intention James Cook found the island while discovering very much other Southern Islands.

  • The Cook Islands got it's name.

    The Cook Island's name traces back to the James Cook, who first landed in the southern Palmerston Atoll in the 1700s, but before that, he names the newfound place the Hervey Islands.

  • Why did the Cook Islands fear the French.

    The French had taken over Tahiti the French dispatched a warship in 1842 to demand reparations and to arrange a French protectorate.

    James Cook was the first European to call to most of the islands.
