The success of China was not very easy. China was promised help by the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union later denied all help to China and removed all the foriegn workers from China. Mao Zedong promised the world they would create nuclear weapons in the next 8 years. They did so in four years. So in 1964 the first Chinese atomic bomb was exploded. So as you see China's path to success was not an easy path.
