    10 motion picture producers, directors, and screenwriters went to the House Un- American Activities Committee refused to answer questions on being a communist. They would after spend time in prison for contempt of Congress. They were also blacklisted by the Hollywood Studio.

    An organization created to have security against the Soviet Union. The first military alliance the US entered. Countries in NATO were the US, Canada, and several Western European nations.

    The American spy plane was used by the US Air Force and the Central Intelligence Agency. It was used for high-altitude reconnaissance flights.

    Bay of Pigs invasion on April 17th, 1961. Cuba was being invaded by the U.S. government. They invaded because of the bad relations between Cuba, the US, and the Soviet Union.

    The Wall was built by the German Democratic Republic. The wall divided Berlin into two zones. It was to keep their population from escaping Soviet-controlled East Berlin to West Berlin.

    The Soviets went to Afghanistan to support the pro-Soviet government. There were a lot of sanction the were made on the Soviet Union. Also, this war made the war between the US and the Soviet Union a proxy war.

    The Wall came down because of a press conference in East Berlin. Tourists took advantage of the new border and evaded the country's ban on travel to the West. The Wall help East Germany to the ongoing threat.
