    Joseph Stalin dies and Kruschev takes over. Three months later Kruschev's rival is executed.

    Fidel Castro becomes President of Cuba after the revolution and overthrow of Fulgencio Batista. Castro allies with the Soviet Union.

    The U.S tries to invade Cuba to stop the spread of Communism. The U.S hoped that the Cuban people and parts of the Cubam military would join them in overthrowing Castro. This mission is a complete failure because Castro knew when to expect them and the soggy conditions on the ground force were poor.

    The U.S finds that the Soviet Union has Nuclear missiles in Cuba. The U.S demands that the missiles are removed. 13 days later Kruschev agrees after negotiations take place.
