NATO
NATOs effect on the war was the treaty of North Atlantic Treaty that made an alliance against communism this created tension between communistic states. -
Korean War
North Korea invaded South Korea. The United Nations, with the United States as the principal force, came to the aid of South Korea. China, with assistance from the Soviet Union, came to the aid of North Korea. So this conflict/ tension cause the country to split to north and south due to the spread of communism. -
Warsaw Pact
The Treaty of Friendship, Co-operation and Mutual Assistance'.
Caused tension with countries with no communistic views. -
Eisenhower Doctrine
Containment of Communism & military aid to countries to prevent them becoming communist and the USSR didn't like that. -
U-2 Incident
A United States U-2 spy plane was shot down while in Soviet airspace. This incident showed that the U.S was spying and it caused tension with the USSR. -
Bay of Pigs
A failed military invasion of Cuba undertaken by the CIA-sponsored paramilitary. This cause higher tensions between Cuba and the United States coming close to nuclear warfare. -
Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall split the capital in two to keep the soviets from turning Germany into a communist state and this raise tensions. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
The Soviet Union placed nuclear missiles in Cuba and this raise tension between America and Cuba because the Soviet Union is having an alliance with the Soviet Union and because of the United States having missiles in turkey almost cause a nuclear warfare and the Soviet Union and the United State come to a medium to settle this 13 day conflict. -

Can't test nuclear weapons above ground.
