I remember when I was in kindergarten, the teacher would make us sit in a circle as she read us a book. There were times where she would allow some children to read and I always volunteered.

I remember when I was about 4 years old, my mom let me use this learning app called ABC Mouse. I used to use it everyday as it taught me how to write, my ABC's, my numbers, and how to count.

In the first grade I had learned about nouns and verbs. I would write sentences daily about walking my imaginary dog or cat, while making sure I used the correct nouns and pronouns.

In the second grade I was introduced to my first book report. Every Wednesday, our weekly book reports were due, we had to write down what we read, how long we read, and the amount of pages read. Parents had to sign it to actually make sure it was done. I usually read comics and books of that nature.

The first actual book I've read and fully read, was in the third grade. I read the Diary of a Wimpy kid. Those were some of by favorite books they were fun and enjoyable, while not having as much pictures and graphics as comics.

In 4th grade I was given an actually book report, we would usually get them on weekends, we would have to read as much as we can from a book and give our teacher short summary and facts about the book and what we learned.

I read my first non fiction book in the 5th grade, it was called Bud Not Buddy, it was a very interesting book and we were required to read it for the curriculum. I wrote a short summary on the book as an assignment.

I got my first real essay in the 7th grade, we had to write an ICEE essay on Westward Expansion. The essay was about 5 paragraphs and it was an argumentative essay.
