With the waste laying everywhere it would surely cause diseases and sickness, and also contaminated the water. The sewer system made it to where the waste was in a spot where it would not cause any sickness or harm to the people and wildlife around it.

Also the diesel engine had just been mastered and everyone was using it. All of the pollution was trapped in by the cold air so it stayed close to the ground and caused it to be foggy. The fogginess was from the pollution, this resulted in many deaths and sicknesses. This made people rethink about the pollution.
