He got his interest in the steel industry as he recognized the potential of the material so he invested in steel companies, eventually starting his own he drove all the others out of business. -
Theodore Roosevelt
Born on October 27th, 1858, this man became the 26th president serving from 1901-1909 using his two terms. Theodore became the 26th president as the previous president (William McKinley) was assassinated forcing Theodore as his Vice president to take over his role. -
Buying Of Alaska
In 1867 the Alaska territory was bought by U.S.A from Russia for only $7.2 million. The total land bought was 586,412 square miles of land and if you did the calculations about 2 cents per square mile. -
Wright Brothers
The two wright brothers born in 1867 1871 created the first flights with a controlled airplane unlike all the others before. How the brothers got the idea to create a flying machine was ever since they were kids they had an interest in flight. They had a small helicopter toy that would wind up with a rubber band and fly using the tension which fascinated them giving them the idea once they came older. -
Great Chicago Fire
The Great Chicago Fire a horrible event for them happened on October 8th, 1871, when a barn caught on fire in the city and quickly grew the fire large spreading from barn to buildings and down growing larger as it ran through.
The Fire caused 300-400 people to die, and burnt for more then 24 hours destroying almost all the city.
This event caused cities to start building out of other things then wood and stop polluting so much as since they did even the river caught on fire! -

The Telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876 and the idea came from his interest for sound technology as his mother and wife were deaf.
About Alexander Graham Bell, His birth date was March 3 1847 Edinburgh Scotland, and his education was at University of Edinburgh where sadly he never got a degree. -

The car was by Karl Benz in January 29th, 1886, Mannheim. He got the idea to create the car because he had financial setbacks and decides to revolutionize the transportation of the world at the time. -
Johnstown Flood
The Johnstown flood happened on May 31st, 1889, because of a faulty dam that hadn't been checked on in over 20 years.
The breaking of the dam sent roughly 20 million tons of water down onto Johnstown killing a over 2000 people. -
Basketball
The creator of basketball James Naismith born on November 6th, 1861 made this sport because he wanted to create something fun and less dangerous for physical education.
He invented this sport because most already made sports such as football were leaving to many people injured and concussed and wanted a better less injury inducing sport. -
Ragtime
Ragtime invented by Scott Joplin (who was born on November 24th, 1868) wanted to revolutionize the music industry and change everything from classical to a more jazzy, dancing type style of music.
Ragtime was created sometime in the 1890's no exact date as he created many songs but his most popular song Maple Leaf Rag was a hit in September 18, 1899.
