This is the timespan shows different theories and models of ATOMS

  • Dalton's Model

    Dalton's Model
In the 1800s a great chemist John Dalton created the first model of a Atom. He made this model to show that every item in matter is made of smaller parts of matter. He thought that they were tiny balls.
  • Thomson Model

    Thomson Model
A famous British scientist named J.J. Thomson created another model which he compared the atom to a muffin at the berries in it were the electrons outside of the nucleus.
  • Nagaoka's Model

    Nagaoka's Model
A famous Japanese Physicist y ther nam of Hantaro Nagaoka had the brilliant idea of a new model of the atom, but this time the model had electrons flying around the nucleus of the atom.
  • Rutherford's Model

    Rutherford's Model
A great physicist Ernest Rutherford concluded that the atom is mostly empty because the electrons orbit the atom. The reason the electrons orbit the nucleus is that the nucleus is positively charged.
  • Bohr's Model

    Bohr's Model
A famous Danish physicist Niels Bohr detemired that the electrons don't randomly fly around the nucleus. The electrons orbit the nucleus in layers or shells.
  • Modern Model

    Modern Model
Many people and scientist thank all the people that worked on the modern model of an atom.
  • Chadwick's Model

    Chadwick's Model
A famous British physicist named James Chadwick discover that a nucleus have to parts called a proton and a neutron. They both have the same mass, but the neutrons aren't positively charged.
