Landing on the New World
It’s said to have started as early as the 15th century, though In 1492 Christopher Columbus sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, eventually coming across what we know as the ‘New World’. Instead of discovering Spain, he found himself in San Salvador known today as the Bahamas. -

Opening the americas
Since Great Britain and France were new seeking new trading routes and lands across the oceans, they had John Cabot, and Italian explorer, reach the coast of the Newfoundland believing it could be related to Asia. -

Establishing
With Christopher wanting new routes to India, China, Japan and the Spice Islands, he thought he the Bahamas might’ve been japan, either way, he started establishing a small colony. -

Later finding himself in in conflict with another explorer, Pedro Alvares Cabral who lead himself into Brazil raising conflict between Spain and Portugal over the newly discovered and claimed lands. -

Eventually causing the Treaty of Tordesillas dividing these lands into a half in 1494.. this was to decide the power between Portugal and Spain at once. -

Searching
Christopher Columbus continued to lead another three voyages. The second being to the Caribbean establishing in Hispaniola. His third to trinidad and northern South America coast, reaching a new continent. -

Sailing for France
With other English explorers following him, Giovanni de Verrazano was actually commissioned by France to discover the entrance to the Hudson River in 1524 which he did, successfully. -

Territory Marking
Finding the New York harbor and coastline of what is present day North Carolina. He claimed this region for France during this period collecting significant information about geography facing encounters with various Native American Tribes. -
Mandating
For over the next decade, all of the French, British, and more would fight over dominance especially over the lands. But English is who established the first permanent colony in Northern America in Jamestown, Virginia. -
New colonies
Leaving Samuel du Champlain to found the Quebec City in 1608, and in 1624 holland confirming a trading outpost in what is known as present day New York City. Forming the New Ámsterdam colony. -
Era ending
he ending of these explorations came to and end in the 17th century. Letting colonies expand their empires and focusing more on trading, particularly focusing on slaves. The Russians, Dutch, British and Frances were left to their own duties. -
Goods
Conquering sand seeking for resources, mapping continents, sought new routes, and continue establishing trading posts across various regions, of course, this was significant because tools, weapons, textiles, guns and etc were needed by all. -
Ending of era
So, this lead to advancement in technology, knowledge, and traveling, mainly by sea. European colonization became permanent throughout both North and South America. -
Sailing the ocean
On August 3, 1492, Columbus set sail from Spain to find an all water route to Asia. Christopher was seeking India to find new routes to various places, find goods, and spread Christianity. -
Seeking
Cabot was working for the English, successfully claiming the land of England’s king as well as the Cape Breton Island on the North American coast. This made a possibility for future English expeditions and lashed down the British colonization foundation.
